Greetings VOBSters,
December crept up on us as we busily prepared for our winter season and we're thrilled to welcome some much needed snow and ice in Minnesota! As we near the end of 2021, we are also busy reviewing where we've been and planning for 2022.
In 2021, we aimed for stability and sustainability -- deliver safe
and effective programs, raise funds for programming and scholarships, manage our finances carefully, support our staff, improve Equity, Inclusion and Diversity and foster a culture of community. Like an Outward Bound expedition, we did it... but sometimes it was really tough and we learned some important lessons along the way.
VOBS set a goal to change lives through challenge and discovery safely and effectively in 2021 and we did it with the support of our wonderful community! Cheers to you, to a successful year and to an exciting 2022! Thanks for being part of our crew!

Attention VOBS Community - VOBS Scholar Portal launch!
Voyageur Outward Bound School is launching a full scholarship opportunity for students in our partner schools, colleges and youth-serving nonprofits. We love working with our partner schools, colleges and youth-serving nonprofits. Together, we deliver life-changing programs for young leaders. In 2022, we’ll serve more than 800 students through our partnership programs alone, and now we can give these students an additional opportunity to go Outward Bound on a longer leadership adventure.
VOBS now offers individual partnership students an opportunity to be a VOBS SCHOLAR and go on a longer wilderness leadership expedition of their choice for FREE!
Dogsledding is a centuries-old way of life that is more of an exciting art form than a passenger sport. It is both hard & rewarding work that allows you to travel to remote stretches of the wilderness, where the only tracks you are likely to see are your own. No prior winter knowledge or experience is necessary; skilled Instructors and energetic sled dogs provide all of the training you will need.
The VOBS Twin Cities Center has moved to a new location in St. Paul - please update your records!
You Are Needed
VOBS strives to serve every student, regardless of income. By making a donation today, you help make it possible for everyone to experience Outward Bound. Your donation helps young teens working on rebuilding their family relationships, veterans looking to find success beyond the military, and adults on the precipice of their next life stage. A gift to VOBS is just one way to demonstrate the lasting value of this experience. Thank you!
