IN DEPTH | INSIGHT
INSIGHT, unlike any other outdoor educational experience in the Twin Cities. Adventure for life.
Voyageur's two basecamps, Ely and Twin Cities Center (TCC) give students, educators, schools, and youth serving nonprofits options for learning in the outdoors. At the TCC, INSIGHT is a series of five, one-day-sessions held during the school year. Students get outside, connect, learn, build community. Technical skills like rock climbing and paddling are linked to social-emotional curricula we call the Domains of Thriving, connecting classroom learning to problem-solving challenge. From fire building and canoeing, to map reading and navigation, sessions happen in local parks and outdoors spaces where students can be vulnerable, exercise trust, and belong. Students gain relationship strength, character, critical thinking, and confidence - all of which often translate to improved school attendance, academic health, and increased preparedness for life beyond the classroom.

INSIGHT HIGHLIGHT | Gordon Parks High School
Gordon Parks High School has been a Voyageur Outward Bound community partner for over a decade. More than 300 GP students have had the opportunity to go Outward Bound - thanks to generous donors and foundations supporting VOBS Community Partner Programming. Gordon Parks High School students build leadership and character muscle by paddling, climbing, and skiing inside a social-emotional skill-building progression. A part of the St. Paul Public School system, Gordon Parks High School provides a dynamic and supportive learning environment where every student is seen, valued, and empowered to succeed.
