Interview with Chris Coleman
Chris Coleman, President and CEO of Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity and former Mayor of St. Paul, MN has an Outward Bound story; a story that changed his life.
As a native St. Paul-ian, Chris enjoyed summers at his family’s cabin in the Northwoods but did not necessarily think of himself as an outdoorsman. For a high school graduation present, Chris’ dad gifted him a Boundary Waters expedition with Voyageur Outward Bound School (VOBS) and the rest is history.

We were lucky enough to spend an afternoon with Chris as he reflected on his time spent in the wilderness and with Outward Bound. He noted that while in the moment, his Outward Bound experience proved extremely challenging and seemed like an obstacle too hard to overcome and has wondered where he’d be if his father hadn’t encouraged him to go Outward Bound.

Listen to Chris share with us, in his own words, how Outward Bound changed his life.

Like Chris, we believe it is vitally important to create opportunities for today's youth to experience the wilderness in whatever form possible.
The most immediate way to have an impact is to donate to VOBS and support scholarships to get more kids Outward Bound. Your gift will help support a young person in achieving their goals - who knows, your gift may grant a scholarship to the next Mayor of St. Paul, or, President of Habitat for Humanity, or Teacher, or Counselor, Fire Person, Nonprofit Leader... Your gift will change a life.
