Outward Bound’s Intercept program helps families hit pause and discover a new path forward.

Families and teens embark on parallel adventures – teens join a crew of peers for a transformative Minnesota wilderness experience with caring instructors, while families connect and explore interpersonal dynamics at home using Outward Bound curriculum.

Families get a breather, meaningful perspective, and chance to work on their own needs. 

Our supportive staff engages those at home with a family-focused curriculum that prepares them to reunite with their teen.

At the end of each expedition, teens and families reunite at an Intercept Family Seminar. Facilitators help families unpack the experience together, share learning, and prepare for life back at home. Everyone walks away with new skills, a plan, confidence, and hope.
