Becoming Voyageurs

The Minnesota night is deceptive; it stays remarkably light until around 8 pm, so our students had been lulled into a false sense of thinking they had an abundance of time.

They are paddling again, so I resume my steady paddle strokes toward the shore. It is different here too, the shore. It is not choked with foliage; instead, the slabs of hard granite made up a raged beach leading up to a forest dominated by sweet smelling white cedars.

Introduction to Whitewater for Adults
Take your life to the next level with opportunities to grow and develop skills under rewarding and challenging conditions.

During the expedition you will live simply, practicing low-impact wilderness travel and Leave No Trace® outdoor ethics that promote conservation and sustainability.

Additionally, students will participate in a half-day backcountry or community service project, adding an additional level of stewardship to the experience.

Share this expedition with friends, family, and coworkers as it is sure to fill up early.
Intercept Semester
This 50-day course is ideal for teens and young adults age 16-22 who are struggling to build the skills necessary to live as independent adults. Unhealthy choices such as drug and alcohol experimentation, too much time spent playing video games and on social media, or lack of motivation to pursue further schooling or employment are characteristic of the students as they begin this course..

Enroll by March 31st, and receive $500 off the total cost of tuition for our Intercept Boundary Waters Semester (VMSF-671) beginning in April.

Join our kitchen team. Create practical, nutritious, and delicious lunches and dinners for all staff and guests this summer.

The seasonal cook position includes housing on base and ample opportunities to explore the north woods.

  We Are Going Back to Texas:

We are currently rolling up our sleeves and gathering interested volunteers to assist us in our grass roots effort as we prepare to run programs next Fall in Texas.
