The ice is starting to break on the lakes up north, which creates some of the most challenging conditions for being on course. Travel becomes achingly slow, and HARD.
But here at VOBS, challenge isn't new to us and is never something an OB course lacks; however, it's the PURPOSE of those challenges that creates a lasting impact on our students and is something they carry with them throughout their life.
We are getting ready for all the incredible opportunities the summer has to bring! And we look forward to seeing you out there!

THINGS WE LOVE:
April's Legendary Voyageur: Marina Ewald was a childhood friend of Outward Bound Founder Kurt Hahn, and was described by Hahn as a co-founder of the Salem School. One of Marina’s most notable gifts to the future of Outward Bound came in 1925 when she, along with another teacher from Salem, took 20 students on a 4-week expedition to Finland. The success of the Finnish expedition was a key factor behind Hahn’s adoption of strenuous expeditions as an essential part of his educational philosophy.
Voyageur Start is a bold funding initiative for our community, our youth and our young adults. Thanks to a very generous new funder, VOBS seeks to partner with Minnesota schools, colleges and youth-serving nonprofits to develop student leadership through experiential education.
