"Originally, I was prompted to take this Outward Bound Course by my parents but I quickly took this expedition into my own hands. I liked the idea of getting away and of finding my bigger picture. I've learned more about myself in this time than ever before; emotional patterns, relationship patterns, and more. 

I've learned to fully connect with those around me to add meaning to my life, theirs, and our story. I appreciated how perfectly out group came together, how our strengths and weaknesses fit together like puzzle pieces and created a perfect picture. We learned everything from physical skills to communication tools that will impact us forever. 

Within my self-learning, I discovered my inability to trust others and how detrimental it was to myself and environment. I never had looked that deeply inside myself and been able to label my "issues" like that. I never thought I would be able to leave everything behind at home for so long and exceed like I did given the circumstance. 

I will always tell stories about my and my friends trying to clear beaver dams in boats, and the one time me and my boat partner flipped. I'm taking intentional outlooks and structure from this course and leaving unhelpful thought patterns and self doubt behind. 

I think my entire life will be changed because of this course. Everything from the way I approach situations to how I treat myself has changed."
