Voyageur Outward Bound School
Hello Voyageur Outward Hound Fans,

It has been a while since we last checked in from the Dog yard, we've missed you! In the middle of March as we were finishing the last courses of the Winter, the Pandemic was becoming a thing but we finished the winter as planned. Everything since has definitely not been as planned!

Speaking from my own personal experience, it is a great time to have a dog. A friend that is there to listen. A tail wag when you walk into a room reminding you how great you can be. An excuse to get out on a walk, see the birds, feel the wind, enjoy the lack of airplanes overhead; the quiet that is seeping back into populated centers. A hug when you need it, someone to care for and to care for you. Not to mention all the unexpected silly things that dogs do!

In planning ahead for running a smaller number of Winter Programs than in the past years, we are granting an early retirement to a number of dogs! Please check the website and reach out via e-mail to Bud.ahrens@vobs.org. We can set you up with your next best friend!

Thanks for being part of our crew!

Adoptable Pups Spotlight
Meet Puck!

Puck is a wonderful boy. He came to us from a family run kennel in southern Minnesota. He has not been in a harness in a few years. After an injury to his foot, which lead to a missing toe, it just didn’t make sense to put him back working with the team. He came to us so that we could use our broader audience to find him a fun, active and loving home. He still loves to run and has pulled some of our Instructors on a bike. He's a good dog with definite off-leash potential. He gets along well with others and would love to have a new family!
Meet Wednesday!

Wednesday came to us from a Kennel in the Northeast four years ago. She has been a good lead dog for us throughout her time at VOBS. She is vocal when it is food times or she is craving some attention but that will slow once she knows she is your #1 pup and settles into a new routine. Wednesday is small and mighty. She loves attention and plays well with most other dogs. If you want to get into ski-jouring or bike-jouring, she is a great friend for you to have!

*Please note, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our course catalog is subject to change. We will continue to evaluate the risk and safety of running Outward Bound courses as new information and testing becomes available. Our goal is to confidently run courses, keeping both our students and our staff as safe as possible. Reach out to our admissions team if you have questions regarding course availability.
